Social Development Department Minister Sisisi Tolashe has pledged her help and dedication to improving upon South African Social Security Company (SASSA) providers in the course of an engagement along with the company's senior supervisors at a strategic preparing session in Cape Town.
Tolashe on Tuesday expressed her heartfelt congratulations to the various social grant beneficiaries, who excelled in the 2024 matric exams.
On the 724 156 full-time learners who registered with the National Senior Certificate (NSC), 572 338 are social grant beneficiaries, representing 81% from the registered pupils within the education sector.
These learners obtained a commendable pass rate of 86%.
"This means that the expenditure government is producing within the life of very poor and vulnerable children is yielding a beneficial effect in breaking intergenerational poverty," Tolashe stated.
Reflecting on the latest achievements, the Minister highlighted crucial milestones and ongoing priorities. She committed to urgently addressing The problem of long term Management appointments as well as the lack of personnel at most area workplaces.
Furthermore, the Minister highlighted the need for Group-based engagements and outreach pursuits.
